Posobiec’s on-scene reporting showed thousands of demonstrators gathered at Powderhorn Park before marching south along Portland Avenue toward the location where Good was killed. What was billed by organizers as a silent march quickly devolved into loud chanting and disruptive behavior, with protesters blocking streets and confronting police.
“So much for silent marching,” Posobiec reported as the crowd advanced. He reported national activist networks, including Indivisible, were acting as organizing hubs, allowing Antifa-aligned militants to mobilize under what he described as the appearance of peaceful protest.
During the march, Posobiec observed a mobile billboard demanding, “Arrest & Charge Jonathan Ross!” referencing the ICE agent involved in the shooting. Other signs and slogans included explicit communist messages, and Posobiec also reported seeing a hammer-and-sickle emblem worn by one participant at a vigil.
The demonstrations followed several days of unrest in Minneapolis after Good was killed when she rammed an ICE agent with her vehicle during an enforcement action. The Department of Homeland Security has said the agent fired in self-defense. The incident sparked immediate backlash from anti-ICE activists and left-wing groups.
By Friday night, tensions escalated further. Posobiec reported that anti-ICE agitators and Antifa militants overwhelmed police near the Canopy Hotel on South Third Street and Park Avenue in downtown Minneapolis, where ICE personnel were believed to be staying.
Multiple arrests were made after militants broke into the hotel, according to reports from the scene.
Fireworks were set off as protesters engaged in what organizers described as “direct action.” Some demonstrators attempted to stop traffic while wearing safety vests to resemble officials, further complicating law enforcement response.
