Tricia McLaughlin, a spokeswoman for DHS, revealed details of the incident on Human Events Daily. “We actually just announced that earlier today, about 30 minutes ago, we confiscated a firearm from a riot that’s happening right now at our Broadview facility in Chicago,” she said. “This is just two days after what just happened with this deranged individual opening fire indiscriminately on our ICE facility and the vans down there that led to the killing of one of the detainees and the serious injury of two of them.”
McLaughlin said DHS Secretary Kristi Noem has ordered all ICE and CBP facilities nationwide to harden security. “Our officers have to be vigilant… we’re fearful we’re going to see more of this,” she warned, pointing to what she described as a dangerous climate fueled by political rhetoric. “You’ve done such a great job, Jack, of pointing out the dehumanization and the demonization of our law enforcement from these media pundits and from the political left. And it has to stop now.”
Host Jack Posobiec, who broke the news of the Broadview seizure, issued a stark warning about the escalating wave of violence against immigration enforcement officers. “Another ICE facility is under attack outside Chicago,” he said. “The violent Antifa left, as it turns out, has not stopped just because they were asked to. Stop, guys, just stop. It’s not going to work. It will not work. It will never work.”
According to Posobiec, only decisive government action can stop the attacks. “The only thing they respond to is action. The only thing they respond to is swift government action with government force behind it, whether state or in this case, obviously federal. What are we waiting for? What are we doing?”
He linked the violence to what he called a broader culture of corruption in Washington. Referring to a child that's acting out, Posobiec said, "dad’s got to put the foot down. You got to put the foot down or otherwise they’re going to keep doing it,” Posobiec said. “That means you have to indict. You have to put pressure in the opposite direction. When it comes to the violent left, it’s the same thing. They will not stop.”
Posobiec noted that clearly the violence is increasingly targeting conservatives and Christians. “They’re doing this over and over and over to conservatives, to ICE agents, to Christians, to Catholics. You think they’re just going to give up because you made some good argument or you made some good debate point? You think they’re just going to give up?” he said.
The Human Events Daily host tied the violence directly to the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk. “Why don’t you come down here to the Charlie Kirk studio and ask that question?” he said, gesturing to the late conservative leader’s empty chair. “Oh, wait. You can’t do that, can you?”
The Broadview attack marks the latest in what officials say is a surge of coordinated attacks and threats against ICE facilities nationwide. McLaughlin warned that unless the rhetoric cools down and security is strengthened, “we’re just seeing more and more bloodshed.”
