Human Events Daily host Jack Posobiec reported live from the White House on Monday as President Donald Trump met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and European leaders for a follow-up to Friday's Anchorage Accords. The meeting comes after Trump’s summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Anchorage, Alaska, last Friday, where discussions centered on ending the war in Ukraine that began in 2022.

“Ladies and gentlemen, welcome aboard today's edition of Human Events Daily. We are here live at the White House today for a historic meeting. Chapter two of the Anchorage Accords,” Posobiec said. He recounted the journey to Alaska with Trump, saying, “We arrived here at the White House about 4:45 in the morning, zero dark thirty, then traveled to Joint Base Andrews over in a motorcade with President Trump, no Marine One that morning, flew Air Force One to Anchorage, met with the Russians, flew back, returned about zero three hundred hours. Folks, an incredible day in Anchorage.”

Posobiec emphasized that negotiations always require compromises. “For the Anchorage Accords to be successful, it's going to require a number of compromises, as all negotiations do. President Trump said this a few times over the weekend. There is no side in any negotiation that is ever going to get one hundred percent of their requirements,” he said.

“A lot of the escalation being pointed at from President Trump and President Putin on Joe Biden… that is what led to, in fact, the outbreak of the Ukraine war,” Posobiec said, noting that both leaders agreed on the breakdown in communications and Russian troop buildup.

Posobiec described the European leaders attending the meeting as “the chaperones, or perhaps the minders,” including the president of France, the prime minister of Italy, Ursula von der Leyen of the European Commission, and the UK prime minister. “Now you've got the chaperones, as Steve Bannon was calling them… all here visiting the White House. And there will be a press conference,” he said.

Regarding follow-up with Russia, Posobiec reported that Trump indicated Putin is expecting a phone call. “President Trump also mentioning that Vladimir Putin is waiting for his phone call on the other end of this meeting here at the White House,” he said. In an interview with Sean Hannity after the Alaska summit, Trump told Posobiec that he believes Putin is not only open to peace but eager to “see it done.”

Posobiec framed the White House session as a “do-over” for Zelensky. “Of course, we remember that this is a do-over for President Zelensky, in a sense, after his first Oval Office meeting, which did not go so well. So we're going to put the Real America's voice camera" just outside the West Wing "just in case there's any early exits, the way that there were last time,” he said.

He also recalled Zelensky’s previous visit to Kiev regarding economic and mineral agreements. “The last time I saw President Zelensky was there with Secretary Bessent, and they were talking about this economic mineral deal between the United States and Ukraine. That deal was not agreed to by Zelensky on that trip, and certainly also not agreed to in the last Oval Office visit that we had between the two presidents,” Posobiec said.

“Behind closed doors, the meeting is going on between President Trump and President Zelensky… The Anchorage Accords, Chapter Two,” Posobiec concluded, emphasizing the historic significance of the negotiations and the presence of both regional and international leaders.
