'Asylum seekers' living in London hotels at government expense shoplift luxury goods to pay off human smugglers: whistleblowers

Approximately 70 percent of shoplifters in the West End are migrant asylum seekers, the security guard claimed, who explained that he and his colleagues have reached a breaking point, describing the area as "lawless."

So-called "asylum seekers" staying in taxpayer-funded hotels in London have been accused of stealing thousands of dollars in designer clothing from luxury boutiques to pay off debts owed to human smugglers. A fed-up whistleblower with a security firm told The Sun about the alleged crime scheme that police are reportedly turning a blind eye to.

The criminal migrants pounce on stores including Liberty, Polo Ralph Lauren, and John Lewis, and then head back to their rooms at the Holiday Inn in Wembley, the security guard said.

According to The Sun, two migrants with handbags were recently observed jumping the train ticketing barriers and then fleeing down Bond Street station. The pair then allegedly stole goods from 15 shops, including Reiss, Hollister, and Lilywhites. The stolen items were handed to a middleman, according to reports, citing a whistleblower.

The whistleblower said that once the migrants are caught, the suspects claim to be asylum seekers to evade criminal penalties. The migrants are reportedly using the stolen goods to pay off their debts to human smugglers.

"The police only turn up in two out of every ten men we detain. They don't have the resources, and when they do, the most they do is give them a Community Resolution Order," a security guard told The Sun. "For me and my team, the men are easy to spot because they constantly reoffend."

He added: "The police rarely attend and the maximum we can hold them for is four hours - after that we just have to let them go. We see the same faces again and again."

The Wembley Holiday Inn houses roughly 700 migrants and is one of more than 200 asylum hotels in Britain, per the Daily Mail. Additionally, migrants receive three free meals and a weekly allowance.

"It is a slap in the face to British people for illegal migrants to break into the UK and then engage in brazen criminality. They need to be deported immediately," said Shadow Justice Secretary Robert Jenrick. "The small boats are fuelling crime and making the public less safe. It's a national security emergency and Keir Starmer should treat it as one."
