Human Events Daily host Jack Posobiec reported from Washington, DC on Monday, following his trip to Ukraine alongside Scott Bessent, the acting Treasury Secretary.

During the trip, Posobiec shared his experiences in Kyiv, emphasizing the tremendous honor and responsibility he felt in being invited to attend meetings in the Ukrainian capital. He highlighted that Human Events Daily was "the only podcast" invited on the trip, calling it a significant recognition for independent media. Posobiec urged viewers to consider how groundbreaking it would be for independent media to have similar access during other global conflicts.

"This was an honor, but more so a responsibility. Human Events Daily was brought in by the Trump administration and the Trump White House in an act of radical transparency into these meetings. Imagine it—World War II, a Tehran or Yalta—bringing in independent media and independent voices. Through the power of social media, X, and this podcast right here, Human Events Daily, the only podcast invited to take part in these meetings, we were actually there in the room when this kicked off. That shows the absolute willingness of this White House to show what's going on behind closed doors and to put you, the listener, right in a front-row seat to history. And so, it was my role to document this, to tell you what was happening in real time," Posobiec said. He also noted that he recorded footage "the entire time whenever I was able and allowed to do so because of security concerns.”

Posobiec later explained the security restrictions that limited his ability to film inside certain locations.

"What I want to explain is that we couldn't actually film inside for security purposes."

While he was able to publish some videos and images, and several photos of Bessent with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky were published, he emphasized the high level of security inside government offices.

"When you go into these offices... he's got secure information in there. They're running a war from inside these offices, so guess what that means? No cell phones."

Posobiec shared footage of himself traveling by train in Ukraine, describing the dynamic meetings and key discussions that took place. He highlighted former President Trump’s announcement that he would pursue peace and explore all options for potentially restoring trade with Russia after securing peace between Russia and Ukraine, "rather than stay on the escalatory spiral of NATO and Russia."

Posobiec described arriving in Kyiv overnight, traveling by train for 10 hours, and visiting several key locations. "We visited with the Ukrainian Prime Minister, the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance, the US Embassy in Kyiv, and yes, also visited President Zelensky there in his presidential complex," he said. "As you know, Secretary Bessent held his meeting with President Zelensky, where they discussed the situation with the rare earth minerals and the deal that Zelensky had offered to President Trump regarding the peace for US, Russia, and Ukraine for ending the war."
