Why? Because if Elon Musk pokes under that particular rock, he may find that the Department of Justice not only encouraged the pervasive influence of DEI, but also helped pioneer one already existing replacement euphemism for it: Social-Emotional Learning, or SEL. We know this because Parents Defending Education (PDE) organized an investigation and discovered that the Department of Justice under Biden’s reign had awarded over $100,113,942 through 102 grants, throughout 36 states, directly affecting 946 school districts and potentially influencing up to 3 million K-12 students, according to the NationalDesk.
These funds were distributed through the STOP School Violence Program, which was originally designed to combat violence in the school system and improve the safety of students, teachers, and staff. However, this well-intentioned program to decrease the danger within America’s school system was exploited to introduce trojan horse left-wing administrative frameworks.
“More often than not, when schools mention ‘improving school climate,’ they mean replacing exclusionary discipline with restorative practices and social emotional learning. Exclusionary discipline removes the disruptor from the classroom, allowing the rest of the class to continue learning,” PDE stated in their findings.
“Social emotional learning (SEL) is more insidious than it may sound. While SEL was originally intended to teach children skills like self-awareness, self-management, and goal setting, the definitional shift to ‘Transformative SEL’ prioritizes equity and ‘the collective’ — it has become another avenue to bring DEI into the classroom.”
Now, let’s be clear about something: DEI, and offshoots like this, not only were banned for a reason, but badly needed to be for the sake of preserving the structure of American government. If carried to its logical conclusion, these doctrines would necessitate violations both of the federal regulatory regime and of the Constitution itself. The central tenet of its worldview was expressed with sinister conciseness by the “antiracist” activist Ibram X. Kendi, who famously wrote, “the only remedy to past discrimination is present discrimination.” This is the meaning of the word “equity”: discriminating against some (the so-called “oppressors”) to benefit others (the “oppressed”). Such openly discriminatory intentions, if applied by the government, would be in direct violation of Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) regulations, as well as the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and the 14th Amendment to the US Constitution.
Such regulations and constitutional provisions are not mere dictum. Their purpose is to give everyone fair treatment at work, school, or anywhere else. Moreso even than being wasteful (which it is), DEI, SEL, or whatever you call it is in direct conflict with our nation’s ambition and historical corrective action of past wrongs where discrimination was either legalized, like Jim Crow laws, or under-regulated. There is a reason for this: they have misread the lessons of the past by concluding only that discrimination against black people and/or “underrepresented groups” is wrong. This is not accurate, nor moral. All discrimination is immoral, regardless of whether it’s directed at your demographic or not.
And this – this! – is what Biden’s Department of Justice has been funding in schools. I’ll be blunt: there is no reason our federal government should be funding the diversity industrial complex at all, let alone to infiltrate our schools. Yet these indoctrination-oriented pet projects have gone on ballooning the deficit, without accountability or oversight ever intruding.
And now, with Trump's executive orders at his back, Elon Musk is going to be able to open the books and discover this: the very type of anti-American, illegal, unconstitutional, and wasteful project which their agency was created to stop. Needless to say, if he's serious about decimating the federal government’s debt, programs like this will be the first on the chopping block.
