BREAKING: Hezbollah radios explode across Lebanon day after pager detonations: report

A security source disclosed that the radios were purchased by Hezbollah around the same as pagers which were detonated a day earlier, leaving at least 12 dead and thousands wounded.

There have been new reports of hand-held radios used by Hezbollah exploding on Wednesday following the detonation of thousands of pagers the day before which left at least 12 dead and thousands wounded.

Lebanon's health ministry has reported that 20 people have been killed and 450 injured in the new blasts.

A security source disclosed that the radios were purchased 5 months ago around the same as the pagers by the terrorist organization, per Reuters. According to the outlet, at least one of the fresh blasts took place near a funeral organized by Hezbollah for militants who were killed a day prior.

The group placed blame on Israel for the pager detonations and suggested they launched a rocket attack on Israeli artillery positions Wednesday. A senior Lebanese security course told Reuters that Israel's spy agency Mossad had planted explosives inside the pagers before they were imported into the country by Hezbollah.

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk has called for an investigation into the exploding devices. Israel's military has not yet commented on the incidents.
