Jack Posobiec and The Post Millennial's editor-in-chief Libby Emmons broke down the reactions surrounding the Lindsay Clancy case in Friday’s edition of Human Events Daily, and how the “toxic feminist narrative” has twisted the facts in the case of the mother who admitted to killing her three children.
Posobiec noted the help that Clancy, a mother of 3, had, including having a nanny, parents who lived in the area, and how she was a member of a country club. “The toxic feminist narrative is falling apart,” said Posobiec. An argument of her supporters as to why she's not responsible for killing her three children even though she has admitted that she did so is that she didn't have enough support. This turns out to not have been the case, remarked Emmons and Posobiec.
Emmons replied, “I mean, if the future is female, here we are in the middle of it, and it doesn't look so great. Lindsey Clancy did, as you say, have a lot of support. She had a nanny who was with her until just after her third child was born, and then Clancy had the option to actually stay home. She gave up her career for a time and was able to stay home with her children. Which I think, if you ask a lot of women, this is something that they would be completely grateful to have that opportunity to stay home with their kids.”
She noted that the town in which Clancy lived, Duxbury, is a “very affluent part of the South Shore of Boston,” and that Clancy’s parents moved to the area from Connecticut to support Clancy during the trial. A fundraiser set up for Clancy’s parents has raised over $1 million.
Speaking on the public support Clancy has received from women, Emmons said, “And what I find, as you said, so absolutely stunning is the support that this admitted child killer is getting from the public, the public of women.” She later added of those who came out to express support for Clancy outside the Massachusetts courthouse, “Don't they have jobs? Don't they have children to take care of? How is it that they are taking their time to come be outside the courthouse and support a woman who killed her children, who sent her husband out to run errands so that she could kill her children?”
“And they're claiming that they want to bring awareness to mental health and blah blah blah. This woman, Lindsey Clancy, had so much mental health support that she could have opened her own clinic with the amount of pills that she was being prescribed and appointments that she was able to have. She was scheduling telehealth and in-person visits and whatever else. As you said, she had so much more support than the average woman, and here she is with all of her privilege, and it still wasn't enough for her, and she killed her children.”
Posobiec said “it’s a lie” that Clancy had no support, one that is pushed by “toxic feminists” that also spread the lie that the father of the children, Clancy’s then-husband Patrick, was the one who carried out the killings. Clancy has “admitted that she’s done it, and all the evidence shows that she’s done it.”
Friday was day 18 of Clancy’s trial, which saw the defense rest its case and the prosecution bring forth rebuttal witnesses. During the trial, witnesses have testified about the medications that Clancy was put on in the wake of her third child, voices that she said she heard telling her to kill her kids, and how those voices stopped in the wake of the killings. She strangled each of her kids and then attempted to kill herself, jumping out a window and receiving injuries that resulted in her being left paralyzed.
