Jack Posobiec hosted former US Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Dr. Ben Carson on Human Events Daily Friday during which he gave his take on how the aftermath of January 6th, 2021 has been affecting the US as a republic.

Posobiec specifically asked Carson for his thoughts regarding the "praying grandma," Rebecca Lavrenz who was in attendance at the Trump rally that day and has been convicted on four misdemeanor counts after spending 10 minutes inside the Capitol that day.

Carson responded, "It shows you that it's impossible for a conservative or somebody associated with Trump to get a fair trial."

"But the real problem here," he pointed out, "is that our Justice Department is being commandeered by a political party to punish its political opponents."

He explained that in 1787, founding father Benjamin Franklin declared the United States a republic, "if you can keep it," distinguishing it from a monarchy when asked.

"We kept it for over 240 years, we're as close to losing it right now as we ever have been," Carson said.

This, he said, is exemplified by the weaponization of the Department of Justice against American citizens and political adversaries under the Biden regime. If the right continues to allow this, "we will indeed have lost it, and we will never get it back."

"And I think American people actually realize that," Carson noted, "And that's why you see the poll numbers as they are, they understand what the future for the children and grandchildren will be if we go down this road."
