MONICA CROWLEY: Ronna McDaniel's firing shows the media are tyrannical lunatics

The sanctimonious performative outrage by prominent anchors Chuck Todd, Joy Reid, Rachel Maddow, Chris Hayes, Lawrence O’Donnell, Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski was something to behold: the inmates made it clear that they were in charge.

When the inmates end up running the asylum, it’s a sign that the asylum has descended into “Lord of the Flies”.  The mob overruns the old power structure, all institutional guardrails break down, arbitrary rulemaking reigns, chaos ensues and basic human decency is non-existent. It becomes survival of the fittest: the strong dominate the weak in a kind of Darwinian checkmate.

This kind of spiraling madness is now abundantly evident at NBC News.

NBC recently announced that it had hired former Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel as an on-air contributor who would appear across all of the network’s platforms, including its Marxist propaganda arm, MSNBC.

NBC’s chief disinformation merchants immediately spun into high dudgeon, not privately as true professionalism would dictate, but live on the air in order to whip up their leftist viewership (all tens of them) into applying public pressure on the network to reverse its decision.  On show after show, they sanctimoniously declared as “unacceptable” the hiring of someone who had raised legitimate questions about the irregularities of the 2020 election and had defended President Trump’s right to address those concerns.  Their coordinated attack also included a collective pledge that McDaniel would never appear as a guest on their sacred shows.

All of the public hyperventilating worked, of course: NBC executives folded like a cheap card table, unceremoniously firing McDaniel after only two days, and her agents at Creative Artists Agency also dropped her, fearful that they too might be canceled if they didn’t cut ties with her.

Profiles in courage, no?

The inmates rejoiced in their hateful victory.

MSNBC’s Joy Reid blared, “I just have to say when someone does the right thing.  I feel like it should be acknowledged as publicly as we acknowledged our outrage.  I know how I feel about it.  I am grateful to Cesar [Conde, Chairman of NBCUniversal] for making the right decision.”

Her colleague Rachel Maddow stated, “It always feels wrong to talk about things within the company as if it’s news…I’m grateful our leadership was willing to do the bold, strong, resilient thing.”

Their partner in oppression, Chris Hayes, declared, “I appreciate working at a place that was able to say ‘we got this one wrong’ and then made the right decision.”

And Alex Wagner proclaimed, “Our company listened to us, to you, and did what was right.”

They behaved like a bunch of leftist mean girls, excluding Cady Heron from the lunch table because she was – gasp! – a Republican!

God forbid NBC should have a single dissenting voice on its airwaves expressing a point of view espoused by at least fifty percent of the country.  That NBC is willing to write off half of America speaks to the cowardice of its “leadership” and its overall fealty to leftist ideology to the exclusion of everything else, including increasing audience and revenue share.

Their open and unapologetic hostility toward hardworking Americans who think differently reveals their utter disdain for the country itself.  If you don’t embrace their dark vision of a government Leviathan, mass state censorship and surveillance, a single party system and the globalist agenda, they will arrest, prosecute, imprison, bankrupt, shame, cancel or otherwise destroy you.  McDaniel’s public hanging was meant as a signal to other America Firsters: don’t even think about approaching our precious propaganda echo chamber with the truth or the inmates will humiliate you too.

The truth is toxic to all propagandists.  They must silence and destroy it.  The same people who accused McDaniel of spinning lies on Trump’s behalf spun years’ worth of destructive lies to attack him and the America First movement, including the falsehoods about the Russia Hoax, the “very fine people” hoax, the fake impeachments, the 2020 election, January 6th, the current myriad lawfare cases – and a million smaller lies in between.  They are masters of projection: accusing Trump, the GOP and America First of exactly what they themselves are guilty.

American media companies are not “news” organizations.  They are propaganda outfits with colossal megaphones.  They also act as a mighty enforcement arm of the Left.  They work hand-in-glove with Big Tech, Big Government, Big Hollywood and Big Academia to silence and manipulate what you see, hear and say.  America has a state-run media – a hallmark of every dictatorship – pretending to be guided by independent thought and editorial decision-making.  It’s epic gas-lighting.

The good news is that more and more Americans are getting hip to the steady diet of lies they are being fed by the propagandists, who will not even allow a solitary voice of dissent. If their positions are eminently defensible, why are they so afraid of debate?  Because they’re tyrants at heart.
All of this is beyond Orwellian.  He who controls the flow of information controls the people.  And right now, the inmates control the flow of information – and the asylum is getting ever-more dangerous.
