This is an extreme hypothetical to ponder but in the current state of affairs in this country, such a thought is not impossible to be realized. Immigration is a problem for the United States of America, and I mean all immigration including legal immigration. Many like to focus on illegal immigration as problematic; however, the federal government owes it to its citizens to put Americans first. The immigration system is broken, and both political parties could have done something about it a long time ago but they did not, and now the immigration situation has gotten out of hand. We have approached a critical mass with this immigration issue.
Every Presidential election, both political parties offer rhetoric claiming that this is the most important election of our time and how American democracy is on the line, but both parties have failed the American people especially in respect to immigration policies. The lack of action by Democrats and Republicans to fix the immigration issue has shown that the federal government is either too inept to perform the will of the American people or that the federal government willfully chooses to create and exacerbate problems for the American people. The American public must see the writing on the wall. It is not about race. It is not about religious beliefs. Nor it is about identities or political beliefs. Those issues have divided Americans for almost a century now and they continue to drive an unnecessary wedge between all Americans while there are other pressing issues such as immigration that need to be addressed. Immigration is an issue that has continued to harm all Americans, and both Democrats and Republicans have contributed to the problem in different ways.
In recent years, the United Stated government has turned its back on its citizens for those who have illegally crossed our borders. Our elected officials have used our hard-earned extorted tax dollars to reward these criminals by funding their illegal stay within our land. When is enough, enough? A great man once stated that an injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere and the United States government continues to perpetuate injustices to the American citizen.
Americans should be outraged and insulted that Governors are asking homeowners to house illegal immigrants. Americans should be outraged and insulted that Chicago is using COVID-19 pandemic aid to staff migrant shelters. Dare I remind you that not one government official will be held accountable for the bad decisions made that caused loss of livelihoods, loss of businesses, and loss of life? Americans should be outraged and insulted that Chicago spent $138 Million on newly arrived illegal immigrants. Americans should be insulted and outraged that New York city will pay out $53 million on pre-paid debit cards to illegal immigrants in a pilot program that is similar to the SNAP food stamp program.
Let’s put things in perspective a bit more. We gave $165 Billion to Ukraine. Using that same amount of tax dollars that went to a foreign nation, we could’ve built six border walls to aid in combating illegal immigration. We could’ve also given EACH of our homeless veterans, $2 million or at the very least, gotten them off the streets. We could’ve given $50 Million to every family impacted by the Maui wildfires, but you know what they received? $700. These are your tax dollars hard at work made possible by the people you voted for to represent you. Americans must see the writing on the wall and understand that the solution to this does not lie in politics. America must return to its tradition, by fortifying a new tradition through understanding that the solutions to all of its problems are the people which make up the nation.
Americans must establish and fortify a distinct “American” culture, and they must do so under the umbrella of American nationalism. Multiculturalism, diversity, and inclusion in respect to culture is killing America and she is dying a very slow death. Desperate times call for desperate measures, and it is time for Americans to possess a sense of nationalism in order to correct the path that the government has forged for the nation. Americans must confront the truth and do what is uncomfortable but necessary in order to reshape the American identity. We can no longer be divided by race, sex, gender, class, sexuality, political beliefs or even religion beliefs. We must unite under the banner of America and solidify an idea of what it means to be American through a distinct and uniform culture and values.
