A 42-year-old male soldier who recently said he is transgender and identifying as female is upset with the Spanish Army for preventing him from using female changing rooms, despite the fact that he has no intention of changing his name or altering his male body in any way.

Reduxx reports that Francisco Javier L.G. began changing his legal documents from male to female in the spring of 2023 after Spain's "Trans Law" was enacted.

In a recent interview, Francisco said: "I like my body, I am happy with it and I do not intend to change it."

"I am happy with my body and I [am sexually attracted to] women, but I realized some things and I felt like a woman. For example, I’m a beautician, and I feel better talking to women than men," Francisco said. "When the new [trans] law came out, I asked my daughter if she minded if I became a woman. She’s 10-years-old, and told me she didn’t mind. Then I made the decision to do it."

He has been in the military since 1999 but is currently on leave due to a shoulder injury. He said that his "problems" started when his superiors told him he couldn't use the military's women's facilities in Seville due to capacity issues and he decided to pursue the issue.

"I could not continue using a locker room contrary to my gender, so I requested the use of the locker room that corresponded to my gender, which I understand should be a female locker room, since I am a woman," Francisco told Diario de Sevilla.

The Army ultimately decided Francisco could not use facilities incompatible with his "new gender" and said he could use the women's facilities after an expansion was finished. Until then, he was given access to women's senior command locker rooms during set times.

However, Franciso expressed he is still not satisfied with these accommodations.

"If a judge has declared me a woman, what does an army lawyer have to say about it?" he said to media.

Months earlier his "change in identity," Francisco appeared in a TV show called First Dates during which he expressed he has a high heel fetish.

"I like long hair and high heels. I have a high heel shoe fetish. I love high heels," he said.
