London AirBnB host orally raped by guest who said he'd leave 'a good review': report

An Airbnb host was forced to barricade herself in her room after she was allegedly raped by her first guest at her house in London. The guest told the unnamed woman afterward, the New York Post reports, that he would leave her a "good review" on the app.

A court heard the host's claim that 43-year-old Diego Dellarovere raped her in 2021 after offering to give her a massage.

“He mentioned massage at that point and was following me very close and came behind me and started rubbing my shoulders and I said: ‘No thanks,'” she told detectives in a recording.

“Then when I was sitting on the couch he was touching my legs and said: ‘Put on spa music and I can give you a massage.’ He was saying: ‘I have oil. I will give you a massage,'” she said.

The pair were reportedly drinking wine together on the couch when the guest began "getting a bit handsy" but the host first brushed it off because "he’s Italian and they do that," she said.

Dellarovere however suddenly grabbed her and began kissing her neck and chest as he forced his hands into her leggings.

"I was saying ‘no’ quite a lot and pushing and he stuck his tongue in my mouth and moved from there to my breast and his hand went down inside my leggings," the host reported.

She said Dellarovere then pulled his pants down and forced her to perform a sex act, adding "At one stage he had managed to get my top off and then I was like: 'You need to stop this,' but it was a good half hour more [before] stopping his advances ... I was like: 'I think you should go to bed' and he went to bed and I barricaded my door."

The host grabbed her pets and some kitchen knives and barricaded herself in her room, blocking the door with furniture.

Dellarovere was texting her asking if he could sleep in bed with her and reportedly said "I won't do anything."

He then left and returned to the apartment around 2 am, slept in the guest bedroom, and told the host the next morning he'd "leave a good review."

One of the host's friends told the court that she sounded "very upset" when she called her the night of the incident.

"She was scared, she was terrified of what was going to happen that she just kept saying, 'I don’t know why this happened to me' and she kept repeating, 'I said no,'" the friend said.

However, Dellarvovere has denied all of the allegations and messaged the woman: "I didn’t see any objections from you," and said she was "repressed" and "not a good person."

Dellavovere lived in nearby Kensington, and the host admittedly thought it was strange he was seeking an Airbnb.
