When Donald Trump was President, the nation thrived economically. Before the COVID pandemic, America had gained 3 million new jobs. Middle-class family income increased by nearly $6,000, and incomes rose in every metro area for the first time in 3 decades.
When Donald Trump was President, Americans saw unprecedented tax relief, including the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act – the most significant tax reform package in history.
When Donald Trump was President, economic opportunity abounded for all Americans. Unemployment rates among minorities reached record lows. Poverty rates for Blacks and Hispanics also dropped to record lows. Income inequality plummeted, and 7 million Americans came off food stamps.
When Donald Trump was President, the southern border—now in crisis--was under control and manageable.
When Donald Trump was President, the world was at peace. Trump earned the enmity of the neocon war machine by becoming the first President in decades to refrain from starting a new war. Utilizing a strategy of negotiation, calculated unpredictability, and, when necessary, targeted but limited strikes, Trump projected toughness and strength. Much like Joe Biden, US foreign policy projects weakness and frailty.
Russia would not have invaded Ukraine if Donald Trump were still President. Trump brought peace to the Middle East with the Abraham Accords. That region is now on fire, bringing the potential for a widescale conflict and disastrous consequences for the entire world. When he left office, he was in the process of ending military operations in Afghanistan and finally bringing our brave boys and girls home. Sadly, as with so many other issues, Biden inherited this excellent work and then completely botched it, tragically resulting in the deaths of 13 US service members, including one from right here in Knox County.
But most important is what happened after Donald Trump was President. When he found himself in the crosshairs of the Deep State, Trump did not wither and shrink. He fought back, even at significant personal risk. Instead of spending his days relaxing in the comfortable surroundings of Mar-a-Lago, Donald Trump risked spending the rest of his life in prison. Anyone else would have been intimidated into silence and surrender, but Trump refused to back down and exposed the corruption of Biden’s weaponized DOJ for all to see. For that, we all owe him a debt of gratitude.
The Deep State is an existential threat to American freedom and liberty. Donald Trump is the only candidate with a proven record of standing up to this abomination. For that alone, he deserves our support. This time, dismantling the Deep State will be deeply personal for Donald Trump. But no task is more important, nor is anyone better equipped to do it.
That’s why Donald Trump should be the next President of the United States.
