On Monday, the Israel Foreign Ministry revealed that 23-year-old German-Israeli tattoo artist Shani Louk, whose body was paraded through the streets of Gaza by Hamas after being kidnapped from an outdoor music festival during the terrorist group’s invasion of Israel, has been found dead.
"We are devastated to share that the death of 23 year old German-Israeli Shani [Louk] was confirmed," the foreign ministry posted to X. "Shani who was kidnapped from a music festival and tortured and paraded around Gaza by Hamas terrorists, experienced unfathomable horrors."
"Our hearts are broken. May her memory be a blessing."
Israeli President Isaac Herzog said on Monday that Louk "Has been confirmed as murdered and dead."
"They found her skull which means these barbaric sadistic animals simply chopped off her head when they were attacking and torturing and killing Israelis. It’s a huge tragedy and I send a lot of condolences to her bereaved family. She was a beautiful 23-year-old who went to a music festival, nature festival in Re’im right near the border."
Israeli rescue service Zaka has said that over 260 bodies have been found at the site of the music festival, the New York Post reports.
Videos showed the Hamas terrorists parachuting into the festival as partygoers continued dancing. When the terrorists opened fire, festival attendees attempted to flee the area.
Shani’s mother, Ricarda Louk, told CNN earlier this month that she had last spoken to her daughter after hearing rockets and alarms in southern Israel. Her daughter told her over the phone that she was at the open-air festival with few places to hide.
"She was going to her car and they had military people standing by the cars and were shooting so people couldn’t reach their cars, even to go away. And that’s when they took her," Ricarda Louk said.
Video showed the body of Louk being driven through the streets of Gaza on the back of a truck, guarded by armed terrorists, with the vehicle being followed by cheering people.
