FLASHBACK: Poso visits Holy Land, discusses Israel’s homeland security

"When we come back to the United States and say, ‘I want to be able to defend my country that way,’ suddenly you get labeled every name under the sun."

Jack Posobiec re-shared a special of Human Events Daily on Friday in which he and his brother Kevin visited Israel, the Holy Land, to experience the exact sites where monumental events took place in history and religion, specifically Christianity and Catholicism.

In the midst of recounting their adventures, both pointed out how seriously Israel seemed to take their country’s security with strong border protection, a stark contrast to the current open border situation in the United States.

With the sudden attack from Palestinian terrorist group Hamas on southern Israel which left over 1000 dead and the subsequent war taking place in the Middle East, Posobiec emphasized “the importance of [strong] border security,” noting that “Israel shows the threat.”

Jack stated that Israel took care of both its external and internal borders via “a massive wall … between the Israeli-controlled territory and the West Bank, the Palestinian territories.”

He described the wall along the border as “concrete, barbed wire, watchtowers spotlights, the whole nine yards” instead of a basic slatted fence-like structure, much of like what is seen along parts of the unfinished wall along the United States and Mexico border.

He said that the Holy Land was “not messing around” when it came to homeland and border security.

Kevin pointed out that they possessed the Iron Dome air missile defense system as well. It was developed beginning in 2006 specifically in response to ongoing conflict between Israel and the terrorist organization Hezbollah in Lebanon and was completed in 2011. It works by detecting air threats via a complex radar system and intercepting them via missiles.

Posobiec continued that both Israel’s northern and southern borders are “militarized” and that the military outposts along them are “no joke.”

“And so when you're a country that wants to defend its sovereignty, when you’re a country that's wants to defend its nationalism, it's kind of interesting how [it’s] totally fine when it's a country like Israel or Ukraine.”

“But when we come back to the United States and say, ‘I want to be able to defend my country that way,’ suddenly you get labeled every name under the sun, you get all sorts of crazy things said about you.

“And you're wondering, ‘Wait, I'm confused? Because you said those things were good in those places. But now, I come back home and say … I want to defend my border and I'm not allowed to.’”
