A video of a former US soldier-turned-Ukrainian-military-spokesperson went viral on Wednesday after it was posted on X. The trans-identified male, who now goes by Sarah Ashton-Crillo spoke in a threatening tone and seemingly targeted the US:
“Russia hates the truth, that their obsessive focus on a Ukrainian volunteer is simply allowing the light of the Ukrainian nations honesty to shine brightly.”
“Next week, the teeth of the Russian devils will gnash ever harder, and their rabid mouths will foam [with] uncontrollable frenzy as the world will see a favorite Kremlin propagandist pay for their crimes.”
“And this puppet of Putin is only the first Russia's war criminal propagandists will all be hunted down, and justice will be served as we in Ukraine are led on this mission by faith in God, liberty, and complete liberation.”
Many on social media were quick to call the video satire, but it was confirmed it was an official video released by Zelensky’s appointed English-speaking spokesman.
Charlie Kirk pointed out that “This video was made by an American born person in English directed towards the west, not the Kremlin, saying that if you engage in wrong speak, we're going to murder you,” on his podcast Friday.
The video comes in light of right-leaning American journalist Gonzalo Lira being tried in Ukraine next week for "justifying Russian aggression, denying/glorifying Russian war crimes and undermining the leadership and Defense Forces of Ukraine."
However, it can be inferred that the intended audience of the video extends beyond to American conservative commentators who have criticized US aid and involvement in the Ukraine-Russia war.
Kirk stated that “Zelensky and his pack of mobsters are blaming Bannon, Tucker, Charlie Kirk show, Jack Posobiec for asking questions and moving the American people away from just outright funding this entire thing.”
