Singer and songwriter Taylor Swift has been named as the number one private jet polluter among celebrities, according to a report from the sustainability-driven digital marketing agency Yard.

Despite being a Democratic activist who has lectured others on climate change in her spare time, Swift flew 170 times in the first 200 days of 2022, emitting 8,293.54 metric tons of carbon dioxide, the report states.

"Considering that she is not currently touring, this is a huge amount. Taylor's average flight time is 80 minutes with an average of 139.36 miles per flight," Yard researchers report.

Since the beginning of this year, Taylor Swift's private jet usage amounts to what 1,184 ordinary people would emit in one year.

After facing heavy worldwide criticism following the release of the report, Taylor Swift's rep defended the starlet in a statement to The Los Angeles Times and said, "Taylor's jet is loaned out regularly to other individuals. To attribute most or all of these trips to her is blatantly incorrect."

Other celebrities topping the list of Yard's "Celebs with the Worst Private Jet Co2 Emissions" include:

Floyd Mayweather, 45, came behind Swift at 177 private jet flights this year, emitting 7,076.8 metric tons of Carbon Dioxide. Mayweather's shortest flight included a 10-minute trip to Las Vegas, according to the report.

Singer Jay-Z, 52, ranked third on the list at 136 private jet flights this year, emitting 6,981.3 metric tons of Carbon Dioxide. His shortest trip was a 29-minute flight from North Carolina to Ohio, according to the report.

Alex Rodriguez, 46, ranked fourth on the list at 106 private jet flights, emitting 5,342.7 metric tons of Carbon Dioxide. His fasted flight was 34-minutes, according to the report.

Blake Shelton, 46, ranked fifth on the list at 111 private jet flights, emitting 4,495 metric tons of Carbon Dioxide. Blake's shortest trip including a 27-minute flight from Los Angeles to San Diego, according to the report.

Steven Spielberg, 75, ranked sixth on the list at 61 private jet flights, emitting 4,465 metric tons of Carbon Dioxide. He took an 18-minute flight from Amsterdam to Rotterdam, according to the report.

Kim Kardashian, 41, ranked seventh on the list at 57 private jet flights, emitting 4,268.5 metric tons of Carbon Dioxide. Her shortest flight was a 23-minute trip from San Diego, California, to Camarillo, California, according to the report.

Mark Wahlberg, 51, ranked eighth on the list at 101 private jet flights, emitting 3,772.85 metric tons of Carbon Dioxide. His quickest flight was a 29-minute trip from Van Nuys, California, to Palm Springs, California, according to the report.

Oprah Winfrey, 68, ranked ninth on the list at 68 flights, emitting 3,493.17 metric tons of Carbon Dioxide. His quickest flight was a 16-minute flight from Brunswick, Georgia, to Savannah, Georgia, according to the report.
