POSOBIEC: ‘Stopping a Mass Shooter is Aggressively Pro-Life’

Human Events Daily host Jack Posobiec extolled the 22-year-old who shot and killed a gunman at a Greenwood, Indiana mall earlier this week.

The gunman had killed three people before Elisjsha Dicken, 22, shot him dead after two minutes.

"There was a Good Samaritan at a mall just outside Indianapolis yesterday, where a mass shooting had started. A Good Samaritan, a 22-year-old kid was armed–concealed carry–ended the threat.

Posobiec called Dicken's actions "aggressively pro-life."

"I saw some people writing, they said, 'how can you support something like this. Aren't you supposed to read the Bible and be pro-life? They say, 'doesn't the Bible say you're supposed to be pro-life, how can you support the killing of somebody,' and I say it's simple. Stopping a mass shooter is aggressively pro-life.

"Protecting the lives of others, this is aggressively pro-life. Taking proactive action, or in this case, reactive action. These types of actions are absolutely pro-life. This is why we wear seatbelts. This is why we protect people, this is why we look both ways before crossing the street.

And, at the same time, if you're in a state that's following federal guidelines under the Supreme Court that allows concealed carry, you're carrying because you want to protect yourself, your family, and potentially in that situation, protect the lives of others," Posobiec said.

Police and local politicians also praised Dicken, with Police Chief James Ison saying that he was "100 percent" certain that if it were not for Dicken, more lives would have been lost.

"I am 100% certain many, many more people would've died last night if it was not for his heroism," Ison told ABC News. "The young man had his wits about him, acted very quickly."

ABC reports that "The suspect brought three guns with him to the mall, but only used a Sig Sauer M400 rifle, which he purchased legally in March. Sapirman allegedly left behind another semi-automatic rifle in the mall bathroom, where he was seen on surveillance footage for an hour before the shooting. He purchased that weapon legally in March 2021. A pistol was also found on his body, police said."

City mayor Mark Myers said that the city is "grateful for [Dicken's] heroism" in the situation. "He's a young man processing a lot. I ask that you give him space and time to be able to process what he's gone through last night," he said.
