Michael Flynn Testifies Before House Jan. 6 Inquisition

Trump’s former national security advisor retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn appeared Thursday before the House January 6th inquisition and exercised his Fifth Amendment rights.

Flynn repeatedly cited the Fifth Amendment before the committee because, according to his lawyer, he believes the panel is exploring criminal referrals against Trump and his allies.

“This privilege protects all Americans, not just General Flynn,” Flynn’s lawyer, David Warrington, said in a statement.

Flynn isn't the first witness to exercise the Fifth Amendment. Others include Jeffrey Clark, John Eastman, Roger J. Stone and Alex Jones.

As previously reported by Human Events News, Flynn was subpoenaed to appear before the Inquisition in November of 2021.

He was also asked to produce documents and testimony in reference to a December 18th, 2020 meeting in the Oval Office, Just the News reports

In the letter Flynn received from the Inquisition in December, members wrote that he and others discussed declaring a national emergency as part of a plan to promote the message that the 2020 election was “tainted by widespread fraud.”

In December, Flynn filed a lawsuit against Nancy Pelosi and members of the Inquisition seeking “declaratory and injunctive relief” from the subpoena going after his records and testimony. His legal efforts to undermine the subpoenas were thwarted.
