The Oscars will require guests to show proof of vaccination, while performers and presenters will be tested but won’t have to hand over their vaccine cards.
The Oscars, which will take place on March 27th in Los Angeles, will have a total attendance of 2,500 people, all of whom will need a minimum of two negative PCR tests to attend, The Hill reports.
Performers and presenters will not be required to present proof of vaccination, but will be required to show test results.
How does that make sense?
A spokeswoman for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences told the New York Times that the restrictions are in line with COVID-19 protocols on television sets and the return-to-work standards of Los Angeles County.
Mask requirements will also vary based on the amount of space in each seating section.
