Some of the most intriguing news and most incendiary comments remain virtually unknown for days because they appear in publications that are relatively obscure and perhaps not even focused on politics.

Outgoing Rep. Jim Cooper (D-TN) chose an arts and culture magazine to unload on when he said on Feb 8 that the Democratic Party in his state “faces extinction” because it has forgotten how to relate to the common folk – forgotten really that they exist or remain a vital constituency.

"As usual, Democrats are not alert to future dangers," Cooper told the Nashville Scene. "The biggest danger we face in an off-year election after we won the White House is the 100-year trend toward the other party. Redistricting is small potatoes compared to that historical trend."

Asked if he believed the Democrats would prove competitive in the long term, Cooper said that he hopes so, but "hope is not a strategy." Cooper criticized the management of the party in his state, and told the Scene that the Democrats in Tennessee were heading in the wrong direction..

"Their strategy is blind hope," Cooper said. "Many of the folks you’re probably listening to have probably never visited these counties. They’re not kin to these folks. Their best friends don’t live out there. I had the advantage of being born in Nashville but raised in Shelbyville."

The congressman might be well-acquainted with his home state but those sentiments could be applied to the Democratic Party across America.

Cooper is really reminding his readers that it was Hillary Clinton who dismissed a large swathe of American voters as “deplorables” in the 2016 campaign because they were choosing to vote for Donald Trump and could not see the wisdom of voting for her – in the same arrogant manner that Marxists have always said blue collar workers who vote for conservative parties on cultural issues are demonstrating a “false consciousness” in their political persuasion.

But Cooper is spot on in his assessment and the Democrat Party continues to limp to the midterm elections like the political dinosaurs they are, facing extinction not just in Tennessee but in the South and large parts of America who can no longer comprehend what this political malignancy represents.

Despite rampant crime in Democratic-controlled cities with Soros-supported district attorneys, Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) still refuses to stop trumpeting the “defund the police” slogan that has proven to be such political poison to the party that it has become sort of a forbidden phrase to use in interviews.

"I always tell [fellow Democrats], 'If you all had fixed this before I got here, I wouldn’t have to say these things,'" Bush commented to Axios Tuesday.

Well, she’s continuing to fix things for the party. And it’s clear that fringe Democrats remain firmly committed in their resolve to dismantle law enforcement and just allow people to break the law without any real consequences. Rev. Al Sharpton, who could hardly be called a centrist within the party, greatly offended Nikole Hannah-Jones, the author of the nightmarish and historical monstrosity “1619 Project” by even mentioning a New York City shoplifter who entered a Trader Joe’s and walked off with 10 steaks. When someone helps themselves to the contents of her refrigerator let’s see if she says, “There have always been thefts.”

Squad leader Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is also devouring her party and any support it might have by declaring civil war on moderates who are not with her woke agenda. She’s announced another purge of the party, as she goes after the moderates who might just be the only salvation Democrats can be optimistic about for the coming fall catastrophe.

Everything about the Biden administration reeks of its disapproval, dislike and distaste for the average Americans who keep the country going and used to be part of its voter base. While Biden’s presidency has created an open border with Mexico and ferried illegals across the country like an illicit travel agency, nothing has defined this White House’s contempt for the rank and file like the Department of Justice (DOJ).

Not only did the DOJ work with the National School Boards Association to label parents as “domestic terrorists” for putting their deplorable noses into their children’s education, Attorney General Merrick Garland has the gall to deny any complicity in the operation when he appeared before the House Judiciary Committee in October.

But the DOJ is really off the rails in its commitment to “safe” or supervised injection sites and nothing will alienate them further from middle and working class voters than a commitment to allow addicts to shoot-up illegal drugs in their neighborhoods. The Biden administration is reportedly also looking at a scheme to fund free crack pipes in urban centers that are already immersed in crime and drug abuse. And it’s somehow all for the betterment of “racial equality.” Although White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki denied Wednesday that pipes were included in the kits being sent to assist addicts, Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) wondered if she was being entirely “candid” on the matter.

The Trump administration fought to keep these sites from proliferating across the nation. The Biden DOJ seemingly wants to open the floodgates to the concept in the name of “harm reduction,” a ridiculous notion that insists there is a safe way to pump poison into your body. Heroin is not safe in any measure. And as for racial equality, addiction does not discriminate on the basis of race or any other characteristic.

Vancouver, Canada has several supervised injection sites operating within its city confines – most of them funded by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberal government. In their quest to reduce deaths by drug overdose, the facilities have been a crashing failure, with Vancouver seeing record high deaths continue year after year.

Is Biden or his handlers paying any attention to the current plight of Trudeau, who remains the focus of a freedom convoy that remains parked in front of Parliament Hill in Ottawa. The truckers and protesters behind this convoy are all working-class folks with whom Trudeau’s Liberals, like Biden’s Democrats, have long been estranged. Trudeau even talks about these dirty masses like Biden does of Republicans who support voter integrity laws, suggesting they are somehow being driven by racist designs. Trudeau goes one step farther and suggests they are all a pack of Nazis waving swastikas, although from personal observation I have not detected a single symbol emboldening Nazism or any other far-right movement.

There is a trucker convoy coming for Biden too. And how will he respond to that? More deplorables? More racists?

The Democratic Party is hemorrhaging both internally as so many of its representatives are deciding not to run again – like Jim Cooper – but also externally as so many voters wonder just whose side this party is on.

It’s apparently on the side of criminals and the elites who can pay for their private security to protect themselves from the criminals.

It’s forgotten who real people are.
