Only 48 percent of Democrats want Joe Biden to run for reelection in 2024, according to an Associated Press poll released Thursday.

In total, just 28 percent of Americans said they want Biden to run for reelection, the Associated Press-NORC poll found, per the Daily Caller.

The poll found that only 28 percent of Americans were extremely or very confident that Biden has the “mental capability to serve effectively as president,” and only 25 percent were extremely or very confident that Biden is “healthy enough to serve effectively as president.”

Only 16 percent of Americans believe that Biden has unified the country, compared to 43 percent who think he has further divided the country. 42 percent believe he has not had much of an impact in terms of unity.

Forty seven percent had a positive opinion of Biden, compared to 50 percent who had a negative opinion. Meanwhile, 43 percent viewed Kamala Harris in a positive light compared to 45 percent who viewed her negatively.

When asked during his Wednesday press conference about the recent series of negative polls, Biden said: “I don’t believe in polls.”
