President Trump’s lawyers requested on Thursday that a federal appeals court temporarily block the National Archives from releasing White House records to the House January 6th Inquisition.

As reported by Just the News, Trump has claimed “executive privilege” throughout the probe.

The committee is expected to receive some records on Friday, as U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan ruled against Trump on Tuesday.

Trump’s lawyers wrote to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit on Thursday requesting they block the release of the records, arguing Trump would suffer “irreparable harm through the effective denial of a constitutional and statutory right to be fully heard on a serious disagreement between the former and incumbent president.”
