The Biden administration began removing thousands of migrants from Del Rio, Texas on Sunday, flying them back to their homeland of Haiti.

Texas Department of Public Safety vehicles lined up near the bridge and river where Haitians have been crossing into the United States for almost three weeks and closed that part of the southern border, Just the News reports.

More than 320 migrants arrived in Port-au-Prince on three flights Sunday, and Haiti said six flights were expected Tuesday. In total, U.S. authorities moved to expel many of the nearly 12,000 migrants camped.

Since Friday, 3,300 migrants have been removed from the Del Rio camp to planes to detention centers.

Indeed, Del Rio is a popular destination for illegal border crossings. Migrants being removed have been huddled under a bridge while they wait to be processed by border patrol agents.

Many of the migrants came following the recent earthquake that left their country in shambles, as well as the assassination of President Jovenel Moise. Haitians have been migrating from South America to the U.S. for years.
