Does a homeowner have the right to defend themselves--if they are a felon?

ST. LOUIS ??? Police have arrested a St. Louis homeowner who shot and critically injured a would-be burglar trying to kick in the back door of his home.
But the homeowner wasn???t arrested for shooting the burglar...
