Well‐known columnist and author, David Harsanyi, joined Capitol Hill‐based Human Events as Senior Reporter on Monday, April 2. Harsanyi, currently Editorial Manager at Glenn Beck’s Mercury Ink and a columnist for The Blaze, will focus on economics and Federal budget issues.

Harsanyi’s widely read column has been syndicated nationally through Creators Syndicate since 2008, and is carried by newspapers, magazines and websites across the country. His work has appeared in the Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The Weekly Standard, National Review, Reason, New York Post and numerous other publications.

Commenting on the move, Joe Guerriero, VP & Group Publisher of The Human Events Group said, “David adds tremendous strength to Human Events’ already impressive team of conservative journalists led by our new editor, Cathy Taylor.” Taylor, who joined Human Events in December, was hired from the influential Orange County Register where she served as VP & Opinion Editor for more than 10 years, and as the Business Editor prior to that.

Guerriero continued, “David’s hiring is part of a number of strategic growth initiatives under way at The Human Events Group of media products, which include Human Events, HumanEvents.com, RedState.com and a number of email newsletters.”

Human Events Editor Taylor noted, “David’s rich experience as a reporter, writer, and analyst of public policy and current events will make a significant contribution to Human Events’ Washington coverage. We are thrilled to have him join our team of talented journalists.”

Harsanyi started writing his award‐winning column while at the Denver Post, from 2003‐2011. He began at the Post on the metro beat before moving to the newspaper’s editorial board as an op‐ed columnist. He is author of the Nanny State: How Food Fascists, Teetotaling Do‐Gooders, Priggish Moralists and other Boneheaded Bureaucrats are Turning America into a Nation of Children (Doubleday/Broadway, 2007). He also has appeared as a guest on Fox News, ABC World News Tonight, CNN, MSNBC, PBS, National Public Radio and dozens of radio talk shows across the country.

Earlier in his career, Harsanyi worked in sports journalism as a producer, editor and reporter at The Associated Press, New York Daily News, Sports Illustrated Online and Major League Baseball Advanced Media. A New York native, Harsanyi, his wife and his two daughters are relocating to the Washington, DC area.

The Human Events Group is a unit of Washington, DC‐based Eagle Publishing, one of America’s leading multi‐media organizations in the public‐policy publishing arena.
