Boring Debate

For the most part, last night’s debate was boring.  Tom Brokaw’s heavy-handed moderation shut down practically every opportunity for the candidates to interact with one another.  Brokaw severely limited the breadth and scope of the debate by not only screening the thousands of questions submitted through the internet but also by screening the 150 submissions from the audience.  Spontaneity died a torturous death.

The only two moments you could call unexpected were John McCain proposing $300 billion of the Wall Street bailout be used to rescue homeowners and Barack Obama admitting that he thinks $18 billion in earmarks isn’t all that much money.

CNN Report on Domestic Terrorist Bill Ayers

In a stunning development, CNN broadcast an investigative report on longtime Obama ally and domestic terrorist, Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground.  The report exposed Obama campaign representative Anita Dunn as being less than truthful.  The Weekly Standard reported on the broadcast.  From the link, which includes the video:

“Obama campaign representative Anita Dunn: A Democratic state senator organizes a meeting of her supporters at the house of another one of her supporters. ... It is the worst kind of inference and the worst kind of politics to say that that says something about Barack Obama…”

“CNN reporter Drew Griffin: What I can tell you from two people who were actually there is that, number one, former [Democratic] state senator Alice Palmer says she in no way organized this meeting. She was invited and attended it briefly.”

“Dr. Quentin Young, a retired doctor, told us this indeed was Barack Obama's political coming out party, and it was hosted by Bill Ayers.”

Michelle Obama Has Ties to Bernardine Dohrn

Bill Ayers’ wife, Bernardine Dohrn, and Michelle Obama both worked at the same law firm in Chicago, although Dohrn is barred from practicing law because of her criminal history.  Pajamas Media does a shocking exposé of Dohrn, Ayers and their relationship with the Obamas.  Contradicting the Obama campaign’s odd claim that Obama was eight years old during the bombings, this report points out that Ayers and Dohrn did not turn themselves in to authorities until 1980 and the Weather Underground group continued its bombing activity through the early 1980s.  Obama was attending Columbia University in the early 1980s.  From the link:

“For those of you unfamiliar with Dohrn and her special love of violence in the name of radicalism, one need look no further than her December 1969 rant celebrating the brutal Tate-LaBianca murders with the exhortation, ‘Dig it! First they killed those pigs and then they put a fork in their bellies. Wild!’ According to Discover the Networks, Dohrn had even less sympathy for those who were on the receiving end of the Weathermen’s violence:  A Chicago district attorney named Richard Elrod was seriously injured in the Weatherman riot that erupted during the Chicago ‘Days of Rage’ in October 1969, and he was paralyzed for life as a result. Dohrn later led a celebration of Elrod’s paralysis by leading her comrades in a parody of a Bob Dylan song - ‘Lay, Elrod, Lay.’”

ACORN Las Vegas Raid

ACORN, a group of community organizers and the former legal client of Barack Obama, had their Las Vegas offices raided after submitting voter registration cards in the names of the entire starting lineup of the Dallas Cowboys, among other alleged fraudulent voter registration activities.

And the beat goes on…
