Far-left Rep. John Conyers (D.-Mich.), the ranking Democratic member of the House Judiciary Committee, who has called for an impeachment inquiry against President Bush, has some ethics problems of his own.
PoliticalMoneyLine reports that Conyers' PAC, Take Back the House, agreed to pay a $5,000 civil penalty to the Federal Election Commission for illegally taking contributions from big business and big labor in 2002. The PAC took $20,000 from AT&T and $25,000 from the Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters.
The PAC also took more than the $5,000 limit from Peter Angelos, the left-wing owner of the Baltimore Orioles.
