A few days ago Kathleen "K.T." McFarland won the endorsement of Erie County Republican Chairman Robert Davis, a major Republican leader in upstate New York.

Davis called McFarland "an extraordinarily impressive woman," especially because of her experience in national security policy.

The McFarland campaign also recently garnered the support of GOP Chairmen in Allegany, Livingston, Ontario, Orleans, Sullivan and Wyoming counties, so she is catching up with conservative candidate John Spencer, who has been endorsed by state Republican Chairman Stephen Minarik, the state Conservative Party, and 22 Republican Chairmen.

Neither aspiring Republican nominee has yet to get the endorsement of state Republicans like Rudy Giuliani or George Pataki, although Spencer has the support of New York Congressman Vito Fossella.
