John Conyer (Mich.), highest ranking Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, has been accused of abusing the help, reports CNN. Two former staff members say he made them baby-sit his kids, run errands and work on political campaigns while on congressional payroll. They say they were forced to work on his wife Monica's campaign, who is the Detroit City Council's president pro-tem.

In other congressional corruption news, the Wheeling News Register reports that documents show Alan Mollohan (D.-W.V.) had a huge increase in assets and income from 2000-2004. According to an article from Charleston Daily Mail, Mollohan reported a portfolio of less than $500,000 in 2000, generating less than $80,000 in income. In 2004, he reported having at least $6.3 million in assets that generated from $200,000 to $1.2 million in income. State Delegate Chris Wakim has called for Mollohan to step down as the highest ranking Democrat on the ethics committee.
