North Carolina Rep. Patrick McHenry is sponsoring a resolution to commend Capitol Police for their professionalism in handling the incident in which Rep. Cynthia McKinney is claiming she struck an officer because  she was "inappropriately touched" with "excessive force" when after she refused to identify herself when entering a federal building.

McHenry said, "I don't think it's fair to attack the Capitol Police and I think it's time that we show our support for them. "

The AP reports that a spokesman from the congresswoman has not  returned a reporter's request for comment on the resolution.
