With more than 1,000 votes cast - more than double our previous total - readers of AlitoBlog.com think Judge Samuel Alito did an "outstanding" job responding to Democratic accusations during the question-and-answer portion of his hearings.
Our Day 3 question asking you to rate Alito's performance was never competitive. An overwhelming 95.4% said Alito did "outstanding." Another 3.2% said he did "so-so." A mere 1.4% said he performed poorly and couldn't handle the Democrats' abuse.
The numbers of this informal poll (1,007 of you voted) might have forced Sen. Dick Durbin (D.-Ill.) and his liberal cohorts to back away from a filibuster.
However, Alito isn't out of the woods just yet. We want to know from you: Will Democrats filibuster Judge Alito?
