Yesterday, Rep. John Boehner in his bid for Majority Leader released a 37-page document, “For a Majority that Matters” discussing solutions to problems like the “sordid spectacle of Jack Abramoff” and government waste. The report was issued after Rep. Jeff Flake (Ariz.) and Rep. Charles Bass (N.H) wrote a letter to colleagues asking them not to pick favorites in the race yet because no one has committed to making changes in House functions.
This morning in the Washington Post, George Will clearly endorsed Boehner over Rep. Roy Blunt for the position, noting Boehner has refrained from ever taking an earmark in an appropriations or transportation bill, while Blunt has been a “champion of earmarks as a form of constituent service.”
