Sen. John Kerry (D.-Mass.) had a reunion last week for his presidential campaign staff at Finn McCool’s Irish pub in Washington, D.C. He must have had a rollicking good time.
The next day, the Hotline reported that Kerry had said: “If we take back the House, there’s a solid case to bring articles of impeachment against this President.” Then Kerry reportedly quickly added: “Don’t tell anyone I said that.”
Kerry spokesman David Wade told the Hotline that Kerry was only joking. But Wade also told the Hotline that Kerry often asks: “How are the same Republicans who tried to impeach a President over whether he misled a nation about an affair going to pretend it does not matter if the administration intentionally misled the country into war?”
The answer to that one is that President Bush no more intentionally misled the country into war than John Kerry did.
