During Biden's questioning, I was sitting across from The Nation's David Corn, who both today and yesterday has been providing running commentary from the committee room by way of eye-rolls, sighs and facial expressions throughout the hearing. At one point, Corn whispered to the reporters around him something about Biden running for President, and asserted that if John Kerry had had Biden's personality, he would have won.
I have to agree. Biden, the Senate's number-two self-promoter, is indeed shamelessly running for President - today was a nice public appearance. After the s rather deliberate and self-referential interrogation, I left the committee room and overheard one woman gushing about his "Clinton-like qualities," his "disarming sense of humor."
