According to ABC’s The Note, Sen. John Kerry (D.-Mass.) today called on President Bush to call Congress back to Washington to address the suggestions of the 9-11 Commission. If Bush were to do this, would Kerry actually bother to show up? He has already missed about 80% of the Senate’s votes this year–would Kerry and Edwards leave the campaign trail to address the issue of terrorism?
Perhaps Bush should call his bluff and bring them all back to implement the recommendations–and then use the opportunity to criticize Kerry for failing to show.
