Liberal filmmaker Michael Moore plans to promote his documentary, Fahrenheit 9/11 as if he were running a political campaign. According to the Los Angeles Times, he hired former Clinton advisors, Chris Lehane and Mark Fabiani, to respond quickly to any attacks on the film. Moore added that they "will go after anyone who slanders me or my work, and we will do it without mercy??¢â???¬ ¦"
Despite his plan to fight every critic or dissenter, Moore's celluloid rant received an R-rating from the Motion Picture Association of America. It seems the rating is for good reason: the movie contains coarse language and images of the bodies of U.S. soldiers being mutilated and Iraqi prisoners being mistreated.
A week ago, at a premier for Hollywood's elite (who gave the film a standing ovation), Moore shared his hope that the country would soon be "back in our hands."
