With Thursday marking one year since Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk was killed at a speaking event in Utah, Human Events Daily host Jack Posobiec and author Joshua Lisec dedicated Monday’s episode to “Charlie Kirk’s strategy for defeating young socialists,” coming at a time when socialist candidates have gained steam across the nation.
Posobiec said Kirk “spoke about this extensively during his last few months on Earth,” and that “one of the last things Charlie tried to do was to wake everyone up to the under-40 crowd, and when I say wake everyone up, I mean wake everyone up in in the media, in politics, in leadership, in government to go around and say, hey, the system is broken for everyone under 40. The system is rigged against them in many cases, and in many cases, they're actually not wrong to feel aggrieved by that system, because it's been rigged against them since before they were born.”
He noted a post from Kirk made in August of 2025, which revealed data showing the drastic shift in those who were married and homeowners between the 1950s and today, dropping from around 50 percent to under 15 percent. He said that those who grew up in the 1950s have a frame of reference of an America of abundance, those in the 1980s of an America of exuberance, but “all of that changed on 9/11, and suddenly the outcomes are non-existent the way they were before.”
Posobiec brought Lisec on, who noted cultural and economic issues facing young Americans, but added that Kirk’s plan for defeating young socialists placed a focus on “deportation and turning the tap of immigration flow off.”
“Everyone points out that the America that we were promised, 9/11 happens and it is effectively granted to the developing world or to the underdeveloped world. And domestic policy priority takes a significant backseat to foreign policy and the supranationalist ideology where we have to go grant freedom and democracy and such and such various rights to everywhere else in the world, meanwhile, leaving our own people forgotten, and we wonder why socialism is on the rise,” said Lisec.
“You know, socialists are promising free housing, free groceries, free healthcare. What are conservatives promising?"
Posobiec noted a comment from Kirk’s final Tucker Carlson interview: “Political radicalization is going to seep in because an entire generation is getting routinely cynical year after year as their net worth either stays at zero or goes into negative. We know how to create wealth, but we don't know how to create it for the generation that needs it the most.” The quote later continued that “young people saying, ‘Hey, if you're not going to fix our life economically, we are going to get very radical politically.’”
Posobiec and Lisec noted the rise of OnlyFans and online gambling such as fantasy sports, with Posobiec saying, “It's being driven in part by this economic instability, and it is a very sad state of affairs, but one that needs to be addressed rather than simply pointed at and screamed about.”
Later in the show, Lisec said that “economic communism and socialist promises” fall on “deaf ears” when “the working class have ladders, when they have opportunities presented to them, when the elite in the society have a sense of noblesse oblige.”
“When our elite are instead worrying about the prices of Rolex watches or building a new data center, let's say, and how money tax breaks are going to get from that. When those sorts of things go viral, that tells the youth, that tells the working class and the underclass, the graduates with master's degrees, but can't get an entry-level job in the STEM field because of overt anti-white, anti-discrimination, which remains a problem.”
“Socialism works in societies where capitalism appears to have failed. That is the bottom line here. Communism becomes popular when conservatism seems not to have answers.”
