Human Events Daily host Jack Posobiec stated that Wisconsin Democratic Socialists of America figure Francesca Hong is not an outlier, but instead is the logical outcome of "cultural Marxism," and Americans should understand the ideology's underlying goals rather than view individual controversies in isolation.
Speaking on Tuesday's episode of Human Events Daily, Posobiec said observers should not be surprised by Hong's positions because they fit within what he described as a broader ideological project.
"People are saying, 'Oh my gosh, this is such a strange candidate.' And she certainly is, by the way. But also, I want to explain to people that if you understand cultural Marxism, if you understand the underpinnings of her ideology, then nothing she's doing is out of the ordinary at all."
"I would urge everyone to just read the book. Just read the book. It's been out for two years. What are you waiting for? Just read the book."
Marxists seek to undermine a nation's shared traditions and historical identity. "Why do Marxists hate our culture and hate our holidays, you ask? Because they want to subvert our history and subvert our culture. It's so obvious. Of course they will attack your culture. Of course they will attack your holidays. They will make you hate your history. They will make you hate your holidays. They will make you hate everything that makes you a people—an American people."
Posobiec also tied his criticism to his support for national populism, saying national identity should take precedence over economic ideology. "People are like, 'Oh, Jack, why are you attacking capitalism?' I said, because we need national populism, because we need to understand that we are a nation first."
He claimed Democratic Socialists of America activists portray European history primarily through the lens of colonialism and racial oppression. "They say Europeans were the original super spreaders of colonialism, and it was white people that were killing Indigenous folks and women. That's the DSA. They hate white people. It's not complicated."
Posobiec argued that holidays become targets because they represent shared cultural traditions. "What are they going to do? They're going to take a holiday and declare it a white holiday like Thanksgiving—or, God forbid, White Christmas. It's not about misunderstanding history. You have to understand the deeper underpinnings of what the cultural Marxist is doing."
"The cultural Marxist knows that if they can make you hate your own country, if they can make you hate your own culture, if they can make you hate your own institutions, then they will allow you to give them total power. Then you won't fight when they take over your government. You won't fight when they take over your businesses and your institutions and all of your systems. And you won't fight when eventually they get total power and it becomes too late."
Posobiec concluded by invoking former Wisconsin Sen. Joseph McCarthy, arguing that communist influence should be opposed regardless of its scale. "If there is only one communist on the campus of one university, that is one communist too many." He continued: "If there was only one communist among the American advisers at Yalta, that is one communist too many. And if there is only one communist in the State Department, then that is still one communist too many. Because this is what they do every single time."
