Cody gave his reaction to learning that Trump had publicly endorsed him on Truth Social while he was out campaigning with his father. He described the moment as it unfolded during a door-to-door effort.
“Man, me and my dad were out knocking doors and like I said, putting up signs and I got, I got a call and, uh, yeah, it's just, I said, I should get ready for a, for my, again, for an Amory Palin, I should get ready for a, a, a post on true social within the hour. And, uh, lo and behold, about an hour later, uh, president, president Trump endorsed our campaign for house district 11 here in the great state of Tennessee. And, uh, talked a few things about me being a, a, a civic leader and me being a teacher, me being a conservative columnist and an editor, uh, here for human events and, uh, just got his endorsements. And, uh, he believes in our campaign. And I hope along with president Trump, we can earn some endorsements and support across the district. But so honored to have his support. Uh, it is of course, the biggest stamp in Republican politics and in elected office to have the stamp of approval from the president of the United States and the founder of the MAGA movement. That is the MAGA movement that is Donald Trump and, uh, glad to have his support and, uh, so honored to have his backing as the Republican nominee for this district.”
Jack Posobiec, host of Human Events Daily, also reacted during the segment, referencing the moment Trump’s post appeared on social media and describing the reaction it triggered among viewers following the announcement.
“It’s amazing. And I just have to say congratulations on your, I saw it a couple, I guess it was over the weekend where, you know, we get in this post and suddenly I’m on true social. I’ve got my notifications on for it as usual. And I see the president posting. I said, what president posted? He said, wait a minute, he's posted about Kenny Cody. What happened there? Tell us the story.”
Trump’s endorsement was posted on Truth Social, where he described Cody as a “MAGA Warrior” and praised his background as a teacher, civic leader, and conservative commentator.
“It is my Great Honor to endorse MAGA Warrior, Kenny Cody, who is running to represent the fantastic people of Tennessee's 11th State House District.”
The president further outlined policy positions he said Cody would support in office, including economic measures, energy development, school choice, and immigration enforcement.
“A very successful School Teacher, Civic Leader, Conservative Journalist and Activist, Kenny has dedicated his life to serving his Community. In the State House, he will fight tirelessly to Promote East Tennessee's 'Mountain Values,' Grow the Economy, Cut Taxes and Regulations, Advance MADE IN THE U.S.A., Champion American Energy DOMINANCE, Stop Migrant Crime, Strengthen our Military/Veterans, Promote School Choice, Safeguard our Elections, and Defend our always under siege Second Amendment. Kenny Cody has my Complete and Total Endorsement to be the next State Representative from Tennessee's 11th House District - HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!”
Cody, who works as opinion editor at Human Events, reflected on the endorsement in a written statement, calling it a milestone in his political trajectory and crediting Trump as a key influence in his entry into politics.
“I am so honored to be the only President Trump-endorsed, America First conservative running in this race. Donald Trump is the reason I got into politics, and this is truly a full-circle moment earning this endorsement from him. God bless House District 11, God bless Tennessee, and God bless the United States of America.”
Cody has previously served as chairman of the Cocke County Republican Party and has been active as a political columnist and commentator within conservative media.
