A former Spandau Ballet singer has been sentenced to 14 years in prison on rape and attempted rape charges.

Ross Davidson, who performed with the band in 2018 under the name Ross Wild, was found to have filmed himself sexually assaulting six women between August 2013 and December 2019, including incidents where some women were asleep.

In a July 2024 trial, Davidson was convicted of rape, two counts of sexual assault, and voyeurism against four women. In January of this year, he was found guilty of raping a woman in London in March of 2015, as well as the attempted rape and sexual assault of another woman in Thailand in December 2019. He also pleaded guilty to one count of voyeurism.

According to the BBC, the trial heard that Wild believed he could have “sex on demand," and he referred to himself as "sex positive.”

Prosecutors said the videos showed women in states “as vulnerable as can be" with victims in "such a deep sleep that they could not be disturbed.” They were unaware of the sexual assaults until police told them.

"For a period of six years and at a time when your stage and musical career was fast developing, and you were seen by many as a charismatic artist, you were also behaving to women in a wholly disgraceful manner,” Judge John Dodd KC told Davidson.

As part of the sentencing, Davidson will be subject to a sexual harm prevention order and will have to register as a sex offender.

Five of the women were in attendance at the hearing. After the conviction, one woman said, "Seeing Ross accountable is an important moment for me, and I hope it encourages others who have experienced something similar to feel able to speak up and seek support.”
