On Thursday’s Human Events Daily, guest Kenny Cody highlighted President Trump’s focus on diplomacy and measured foreign policy, tying it to the day’s historic international developments. Cody told guest-host Kevin Posobiec, “Well, it's what President Trump's been campaigning on over the last 10 years, instead of, you know, intervention, instead of war, instead of this idea of an interventionist mindset. It's Trump collaborating with foreign leaders and trying to bring peace not only to the United States, but to the world.”

The remarks came as President Trump convened the inaugural meeting of his international Board of Peace in Washington, announcing that the US would commit $10 billion toward the initiative. Cody noted that the United States has often overextended itself militarily, saying, “You know, the United States has been the police of the world for such a long time and it's got itself intertwined in different kinds of conflicts in the Middle East and across Europe and all over the world in times where it probably shouldn't have happened.”

He said that diplomacy and negotiation should take priority: “But I think the best thing that can be prioritized is negotiation, is diplomacy. And I think Trump's not only bringing peace to the United States and bringing peace to the military, but trying to find solutions and trying to find, you know, end games that will benefit the United States, benefit the military, benefit these families that are sending their kids overseas to potentially put themselves in harm's way. I think that's the most important thing we can take away.”

Cody drew on his personal connection to military families, saying, “You know, being from Appalachia, being from Tennessee, you know, I see a lot of people, one of my best friends in the world is a 10-year veteran in the military currently or in the Air Force, and I don't want to see him shipped overseas for no reason. I don't want to see him shipped overseas to get intertwined in conflicts he shouldn't be intertwined in.”

The timing of Cody’s comment coincided with the major announcement from the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), which opened applications for a new police force to help stabilize the territory. The recruitment drive drew roughly 2,000 applicants within hours. Trump also revealed at the Board of Peace meeting that nine nations had pledged $7 billion toward a Gaza reconstruction package, marking an early international commitment to restoring security and stability in the war-torn region.

Cody argued these developments are within the “America First” philosophy, saying, “So I think, you know, the Board of Peace and these kinds of negotiations and these kinds of collaborations with foreign leaders are the best solution and the America first mindset that President Trump campaigned on, went on in 2024, and originally came up with in 2016. So I think he's continuing to carry on promises and continuing to fulfill all the promises that he's been campaigning on for the last 10 years.”
