The daughter of a well-known Congresswoman seemingly accepted “reparation” payments from her white friends for years, according to a report from the Washington Free Beacon.

Public transactions on the Venmo page of Isra Hirsi, the daughter of Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar, show payments on Juneteenth spread across four of the last six years. Captions to the currency exchange include “reparations” and “Happy Juneteenth. It’s unclear how much money was sent as “reparations.”

The majority of the cash was sent by Hirsi’s white friends in 2020.

The payments came the same day the Congresswoman’s daughter posted, “constantly feeling like I’m obligated to educate. Anyway!! Also thank a black woman who might’ve educated you today.”

“And donate to descendants of enslaved people today,” Hirsi said in a response post.

Both of Hirsi’s parents are Somali immigrants. Advocates for reparations traditionally push for reparation payments to descendants of African Americans enslaved in the United States.

Juneteenth commemorates the official end of slavery in the country in 1865. Hirsi’s mother fled Somalia as a child in 1995 to escape the nation’s civil war. Her father is also a Somali immigrant.

Hirsi is notably a far-left activist and anti-Israel protester who follows in the footsteps of her mother. She’s an organizer for Columbia University Apartheid Divest and for Columbia’s Students for Justice in Palestine chapter.

Hirsi was arrested and suspended from Barnard College for her involvement in the “Gaza Solidarity Encampment” that ravaged Columbia University in the spring.

Hirsi received glowing praise from outlets like Teen Vogue for her “solidarity” with the Palestinian cause and subsequent arrest. In the interview, she alleged that she was left homeless and without food, despite her close relationship with her politically famous mother.

Omar said she is “enormously proud” of Hirsi for her involvement in the encampment and for her arrest.
