Cody, who has followed the case closely, said that he thought these newly released writings were "strange" and came from the mind of a "sick person," adding that "it seems like in every single aspect of Audrey Hale's life, she was failed, whether that's in the media that she was exposed to, the people that she was around, her family, her friends, the doctors."
The article, published by the Star, also revealed that Hale had been taken to Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee when she was 6 years old and was kept there until she was 28 years old. Posobiec, while questioning why this was done, wondered if it was the case of the hospital "just making money off of her" and her parents. He also contemplated that her doctor or therapist had radicalized her and had pushed transgender ideology onto her rather than "getting her on a stable path."
"I really do think that Vanderbilt psych unit has some questions that need to be answered here," the host said. Cody added that Vanderbilt had also infamously been forced by TN State Legislatures to stop performing transgender surgeries on minors. Both agreed that the institution needed to be stopped.
"There's no reason for a 28-year-old to be in therapy since she was 6, there's no reason for a child to be in therapy in general, there's no reason for that. And from that young age all the way till she was [28] years old, Audrey Hale was failed by society," Cody explained.
Despite being under the care of the institution for most of her life, Hale's writings showed that she was still "crazed." Cody stated, "this crazed person was led here, not by her own chemical imbalance, but by the people around her."
On March 27, 2023, Hale entered the private Christian elementary school and shot 6 people, including 3 children, to death. Hale's manifesto revealed she hated white people and Christians. She also identified as a male by the time of the shooting.
