UK teen who fathered child with pedophile teacher Rebecca Joynes testifies he was coerced and sexually abused

The UK teen who fathered a child with infamous pedophile math teacher Rebecca Joynes told a court on Thursday that he was sexually abused by the convicted child predator. He said that Joynes coerced and manipulated him into having a sexual relationship, per the Daily Mail.

The 18-year-old, identified only as Boy B, testified that he was groomed by Joynes starting at the age of 15 and they had a secret relationship while still at the school. He claimed Joynes lied to her about not being able to get pregnant, and later revealed she was carrying his child. The two had sex while Joynes was out on bail for having sex with the other teenage victim, identified as Boy A.

The victim said that the ordeal has torn his family apart and left him suffering panic attacks while worrying about the baby's future.

Joynes went to prison on Thursday to serve her more than 6-year sentence after being found guilty on charges in May.

Boy B said in an impact statement that he was in denial about their inappropriate relationship, believing it was love.

"I would argue until I was blue in the face protecting her and would not hear a bad word against her. I felt as though I had betrayed someone I love and had done wrong by giving evidence," he told the court.

"I felt a large sense of guilt for a long time. I questioned if I was right to give statements about the woman who was carrying my child, since then I have replayed a lot of things in my head, and spoken to a lot of people, and it made me realize the full extent of the abuse carried out on me and the tactics that were used to do so," the victim continued.

"I was coerced and controlled, manipulated, sexually abused, and mentally abused. It is very upsetting that this has happened to me, and I have had little to no support from any organizations," he said. "The months after the abuse happened to me, was a very dark time, I felt backed into a corner. This had a massive mental toll over me and my family. It tore my family apart, they struggled to come to terms with the fact they sent me to school, where they believed it to be a safe environment, and this happened as a result."

In February 2022, Boy B told the police he had been following Joynes on Snapchat and she sent him a picture of herself in underwear. He consented to visit her apartment, where he claimed they had sex, and the messages became more "flirtatious." The victim said they had sex around 30 times in the months that followed at various locations.

Joynes was found guilty on six child sex abuse charges in Manchester Crown Court.
