Ramaswamy is smart and is doing the right thing for his cause by putting himself in a position to have some influence, which he’s already demonstrated with the CBDC power play. DeSantis and “not a real” lolbertarians online are criticizing him for kissing the ring, but I say it’s smart and that Vivek is showing us how it’s done. Javier Milei’s widely touted speech at socialist WEF hellhole Davos is still ringing in my ears, with one quote in particular standing out: “Let no one tell you that your ambition is immoral.” I wish people who I agree with politically had more ambition like Vivek Ramaswamy or Javier Milei, but for that they’d first have to leave mommy’s basements. Vivek will actually get things done for liberty while the losers whine that they didn’t get a chance to even vote yet. I thought we were a republic, not a democracy?
Thomas Massie, who I love, isn’t pleased with me today. He’s attacking me on Twitter for telling the truth and agreeing with John Cardillo that Ron DeSantis needs to fold his campaign and do the job he was actually elected to do instead of ladder climbing for higher office and shirking his duties to the citizens of Florida.
It’s no fun disagreeing with your heroes, even less when it’s played out in public and against someone who is cooler than you and has more twitter followers. But right is right no matter who has the X factor. Massie thinks I’m being too pragmatic, and compromising for someone who doesn’t keep their word.
Massie seems to think that playing for DeSantis is taking a more principled stand, which is complete BS (obviously) because DeSantis is no libertarian, as he has proved many times with his authoritarian lockdowns in Florida, which went on for months, not weeks, as his sycophants like to claim.
So the message from Massie and other DeSantis fans seems to be “Don’t compromise your principles for Trump… compromise them for DeSantis!”
No thanks. Trump wasn’t perfect but he had plenty of libertarian accomplishments while he was president. More than Ronald Reagan even. And DeSantis, who I like and do not enjoy attacking whatsoever, has plenty of time to run for president in the future, and I hope he does! And I hope when this is over that Thomas Massie wises up and gets closer to Donald Trump so that he’s the one whispering in Trump’s ear and not Nikki Haley. Take a page out of Vivek Ramaswamy’s playbook for God’s sakes. Don’t end up like Congressman Justin Amash who left congress, joined the Libertarian Party, and now we hear nothing from ever again. Well, nothing serious anyway.
I don’t want that for you, Thomas. I don't want you to go full Amash. And you don’t want that either.
Now, about that Nikki Haley thing and that spicy headline that got you clicking and reading this far. Did you think I wasn’t going to address it? Let’s get real here, as Rand Paul has said #NeverNikki is the play right now. Stopping Nikki Haley is the short term goal and beating Biden is the long term goal. The only thing stopping Trump from ending Nikki is Ron DeSantis. Why? Because DeSantis supporters second pick sure as hell isn’t Nikki Haley! It’s Donald Trump that’s why. If DeSantis folds, Trump consolidates his support and we beat the neocons back for now. Then we can fight the left. That’s tactics.
The play right now is #NeverNikki. Stop wasting time, donor money, and the hope and energy of countless thousands of people who are inevitably going to be disappointed by DeSantis taking third place in New Hampshire. End this folly now. Get behind Trump and let’s form a wall against the left. Keep your principles. Change your tactics.
