Social media users are criticizing the White House’s Christmas video which features an eccentric dance group that endorses anti-white rhetoric on its website.

First Lady Jill Biden posted a video to X and Instagram on Wednesday that showcases dancers in eccentric outfits, including animal masks, dancing throughout the White House halls. The dancers were members of Dorrance Dance, a tap dance company based in New York City.

“A bit of magic, wonder, and joy brought to you by the talented tappers of Dorrance Dance, performing their playful interpretation of The Nutcracker Suite. Enjoy!” The First Lady’s caption read.

The video alone prompted many social media users to criticize how the White House is choosing to represent the country. The performers wore bizarre costumes, there was no mention of Christmas or the birth of Christ, and the overall performance lacked the traditional decorum you would expect from a government building.

The video had an overwhelmingly negative reception, with many comparing it to the odd outfits and displays of the Capitol in The Hunger Games. But the White House drew even more attention when it was revealed that the performing group espouses anti-white rhetoric, including promoting the works of Marxist, Angela Davis.

Social media users pointed out that the Dorrance Dance’s website includes a section on “antiracism,” featuring definitions of white privilege, systemic racism, and white fragility. The website also endorses several political causes, including the defunding of the New York Police Department, defunding the San Diego Police Department, and mandating that police force academies take “racial bias training.”

Between this recent Christmas performance, the Biden administration’s earlier decision to allow LGBTQ pride shows at the White House for “pride month” that included topless performers with fake breasts, and the White House inviting a Drag Queen last year to be present for a bill signing, Americans with traditional values continue to believe that the government does not adequately represent them and their beliefs.
