ERIN ELMORE: Seattle teacher fails student on test for saying men can’t get pregnant

A tenth-grade student in Seattle has reportedly been handed a failing grade after accurately attesting to the fact that men cannot become pregnant.

At Chief Sealth International High School in Seattle, Washington, an Ethnic Studies World History teacher administered a multiple choice test to students that was reportedly titled, Understanding Gender vs. Sex.

The student’s mother complained to the school administration about her child’s grade in the class but was met with deafening silence from school officials.

The frustrated parent then went on KTTH radio to speak with host Jason Rantz and said that she was “trying to wrap my head around how it is legal to teach inaccurate information and force students to answer against their beliefs or receive negative scores.” KTTH reported that “Many of the questions focused on personal pronoun use (‘When someone uses ‘they/them’ pronouns, what does that mean about their gender identity?’) or assumptions one may make around gender identity (‘True/false: Transgender people are gay’).”

The outlet reported that Question 7 on the quiz asked students to respond “true or false,” to the statement, “Only women can get pregnant.”

“Again,” KTTH wrote, “the student marked the statement “true” because only women can get pregnant. Again, the teacher penalized the student, insisting the answer is false. The teacher believes men can get pregnant.”

The student’s mother also claimed that school staff called her son “f***d and racist” and a “product of the patriarchy that teaches young boys not to care about anything.” The school later denied her allegations.

According to Fox News, which independently verified the mother’s claims regarding the questions featured on the test, “Question 4 of the exam asked students to identify whether the statement ‘All men have [male genitalia]’ is true or false. The student marked the statement true, which was labeled as incorrect by the teacher.”

In a lengthy statement issued to Fox, the school district wrote, “Claims that the student was called names have not been reported to SPS. We have confirmed with [the] school’s principal that this is the first reference to any name-calling.”

“SPS remains committed to fostering inclusive environments that encourage the exploration of contemporary issues, particularly the examination of power systems such as racism and patriarchy,” the district added.

Enrollment in Washington state public schools has decreased by more than 60,000 students since before the COVID-19 pandemic. The rampant crime, draconian lockdowns, and radically progressive ideology, however, has caused thousands the flee the public school system — and the state.
