On Monday, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant announced that he had ordered authorities to commence a "complete siege" of Gaza.

The move comes amid a wave of attacks carried out by members of the Iranian-backed Palestinian terrorist group, Hamas. Hundreds of Israelis lost their lives over the weekend, with Sunday marking the highest number of Jews killed in one day since the Holocaust.

"I have ordered a complete siege on the Gaza Strip," Gallant said. "There will be no electricity, no food, no fuel, everything is closed."

We are fighting human animals," he added, "and we are acting accordingly."

According to the Times of Israel, Gallant and his team made the decision following an assessment at the Israeli Defense Force's Southern Command in Beersheba.

This is a breaking story and will be updated.
